MATCHED PAIR OF FULL BOEHM SELMER, PARIS, 10S CLARINETS, £1995

A rare pair of Selmer 10S full Boehm clarinets, in excellent condition. These are a one owner pair, used by a professional clarinettist and teacher, who initially having a successful career as an architect, subsequently retrained as a musician. The Selmer 10 series was the first major model manufactured by Selmer to adopt a small bore undercut design, in the Buffet Crampon manner: Indeed with a bore of only 14.60mm, the 10S is even smaller in the bore than the Buffet R13. The design is extremely lively, easy to play, and has excellent intonation.
The Bb, with matching S/N D5979, dates to 1987 and has Silver plate in pristine condition, with no discernible wear. There are no cracks or damage to the wood, which is, again, in excellent condition. All pieces are original and have bright matching stamps. The clarinet has just had a thorough check down in our workshop, with pads and regulation attended to as necessary. The A S/N D0669 again dates to 1987. Like the Bb the condition throughout is excellent, with no cracks or damage. There are 4 barrels, with shorter 64.5mm barrels for both Bb and A for the Winter months. The m'piece is a Selmer HS*, in excellent condition. The case is the original Selmer, which for its age is in very good shape.
