A near mint condition professional Yamaha YCL 62 Bb clarinet, which his part of a large collection of instruments from a Dutch collector. It is received wisdom within the music industry that when Yamaha launch a new product, they will have made every conceivable effort to outdo their competitors, at a considerabily cheaper price to the customer. So it was in the 1970's, when Yamaha made their first serious foray into top of the range professional clarinets. The wood was computer controlled, kiln dried, to assist in avoiding cracking, the silver plate, and key work, was of considerably better quality than Buffet. Many players found the ease with which these instruments responded completely won them over. The clarinet model YCL62 was a professional instrument, which superceeded the YCL 61, in the late 1970's.
The clarinet cannot be described as mint, only because of some slight tarnish to the silver plate, caused by being kept in its case unopened for several decades. The instrument has no cracks or damage to the wood, which is finest aged, unstained, Grenadilla. The Silver plated key work is also excellent throughout, with no wear. The original pads are "as new". All touch and tenon corks are good. There is no joint wobble. All piecse are matching and original with bright logo stamps The unfilled out warranty card from the supplying dealer in Utrecht is included. The matching serial nos. are 12581. The m'piece is in unused condition, as is the Yamaha hard shell case.
