G RUDOLF UEBEL FULL BOEHM Bb CLARINET, £545

A rare and fine G. Rudolf Uebel Full Boehm Bb clarinet to low Eb. This clarinet was probably made prior to the 2nd WW as the rear of the clarinet is not stamped GDR, and the key work has not the utilitarian look of his later instruments. This is a much more French influenced design; as can be seen by the use of two separate holes for the articulated C#/G# mechanism. We have just completely repadded in pisoni Premium Deluxe double bladder fish skin pads. The instrument is sold with full 1 year warranty. There are no repaired cracks or damage, apart from light surface scratches. The German Silver key work is in fine order throughout. The barrel is an unusual design, with a tenon at the bottom. There are two barrels, the one which tunes best is shorter & made of ebonite and measures 61.5mm. The m'piece is of ebonite, but unstamped. The case is an older Buffet pouchette double.
