This Selmer Series 9 A is a commission sale for Clarinets direct. The Series 9 was the last of the jazz wide bore clarinets made by Selmer, with the top of the reverse cone at the start of the upper joint measuring 15.25mm. However these instruments were also popular with classical players; the great French virtuoso Ulysse Delecluse played Selmer Series 9s. This A clarinet features all the usual Full Boehm refinements: Fork Eb/Bb, alternative LH Ab/Eb, articulated C#/G#, and low Eb. The instrument has matching serial nos., T7584 which dates to 1964 & is in excellent condition. The Nickel Silver plating is excellent throughout, with no wear. The pads are all fish skin in good order, the clarinet has been down to the Clarinets Direct workshop for a thorough check over, with pads replaced as necessary, and all key work regulated. The instrument shows NO evidence of cracks or repairs; the wood throughout is pristine. The case is a single A case, in fair condition, the interior lining shows wear, but the case latches well.
