SELMER, PARIS, SERIES 10 Bb CLARINET, £695

A nice condition Selmer Series 10 clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This clarinet has just come from a professional player in the Netherlands. He has had the speaker key tube and key modified, by the German maker Meinel, to improve the second register intonation. The Series 10 was the first of Selmers clarinet designs to feature a small bore with more undercutting in the Buffet manner.
This Bb, S/N Y9322, dates to the late 1975 and has Silver plate in very good condition. There are no cracks or damage to the wood which is in good order throughout, with only minor surface scratches and marks. The clarinet has finest pisoni white leather pads which are in very good condition throughout. The instrument has been for a thorough "check down" in our workshop, with touch and tenon corks replaced as necessary. The two supplied Selmer 10 barrels, are of 65mm and 67mm. The case is not the original Selmer but an "Armstrong".
