An extremely fine Selmer Series 10 Bb clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct.  The Selmer Series 10 was the first of the narrow bore, heavily undercut Selmer clarinets which owed much of their design ethos to the Buffet R13. The basic 10 was to some extent the "Cinderella" of the 10 Series. Both the 10G and 10S were ultimately more successful designs for Selmer. However the Series 10 is a superbly made professional model by one of the World's most respected volume manufacturers, and the instruments represent excellent value for money.

This Bb, S/N Y2446, dating to 1974, has Silver plate in pristine condition. All pieces are matching and original with Selmer 10 stamps. The Grenadilla wood is in overall very good condition, apart from a minor chip to the outer edge of the top joint tenon, see photo 3. This has no effect whatsoever on the response. The instrument has just had a complete re-pad in Pisoni deluxe fish skin pads by newly qualified repairman Dave Kershook [who has just joined NAMIR].   Ther are two supplied origanl barrels of 64.5mm and 66.5mm. The case is the original in good condition. The m'piece is a brand new wrapped stock Buffet.
