HOWARTH S1 PROFESSIONAL CLARINET IN COCOBOLO, £1495

An excellent condition Howarth S1 Bb clarinet in Cocobolo wood, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Cocobolo wood gives the instrument an immediate, lively, and flexible response. This instrument has been exceptionally well cared for, and is in showroom condition. Unfortunately Howarth have now ceased manufacturing clarinets, and handmade Cocobolo models of this type are very rare.
The Cocobolo wood is in superb condition, with no scuffs or scratches. There is no joint wobble. The tan leather pads are all in excellent condition. The Silver plated key work shows no wear and there is no play to the mechanism. This model features a LH Ab/Eb key on the same rod as F/C, a clever design, see photo 7. The Bb has matching serial nos. are 1376. The supplied m'piece is a Leblanc K10 M. There are 2 barrels, stamped 66mm & 64mm. The pouchette leather case and cover are in very good condition.
