HOWARTH S1 A CLARINET, £1295

This is a near mint condition Howarth S1 A clarinet. This instrument was chosen new at Howarth & Co. in London after an exhaustive search and play testing session by the current owner. He selected a Buffet R13 as his Bb , but could find no finer A clarinet than this to match with it. The only reason I do not describe it as mint is that the pads are not brand new. Shortly after selecting this pair, the original owner began to concentrate more and more on piano, his first study instrument. Consequently his clarinets have sat unused and are now offered for sale through Clarinets Direct.
The unstained Grenadilla wood is in superb condition, with no scuffs or scratches, pristine. There is no joint wobble. The pads are all sealing well, and the instrument has had a thorough check over in our workshop prior to sale. The key work shows absolutely no wear or play to the mechanism. The Silver plating throughout is excellent. The matching serial nos. are 1319. The supplied m'piece is the original Howarth, unused, and the tuning is excellent. This A will pair well with any modern French bore clarinet, The case is a modern leather Buffet in excellent used condition.
