HOWARTH S1 Bb CLARINET, £1295

An excellent condition Howarth S1 Bb clarinet in Grenadilla. The Howarth S1 was designed by Jon Steward in the 1990's as a top professional instrument competing with the Prestige range made by Buffet. The instrument features: stable intonation at A=440, a dark focussed tone colour, and various design improvements to the key work to minimise routine maintenance.
The Grenadilla wood is in very good condition, with only one slight mark at the top of the upper joint, see photo 5. There are no cracks or repairs & no joint wobble. The Tan leather pads are all in excellent condition and sealing well. The Silver plated key work shows little wear and there is no play to the mechanism, which is in fine regulation. The Bb has matching serial nos. are 1406. The supplied m'piece is a Leblanc stamped 2A, in good used condition. The original case shows some slight scuffs to the exterior and slight marking to the interior.
