SELMER PARIS, RECITAL Bb CLARINET, £1950

An extremely fine Selmer Paris Recital Bb Clarinet. This instrument has been professionally owned and played by a member of the Scottish National Orchestra, and is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. Selmer Recital clarinets are undoubtedly amongst the best designed clarinets worldwide. The upper joint features a large reversed cone which narrows to 14.4mm. This results in exceptionally accurate twelfths, and overall the intonation is superior to most other French instruments sold today.
The wood shows no cracks or damage, it is in very good condition. All Silver plate is excellent, as new, the look and solid feel of this key work is far superior to contemporary Buffet manufacture. The instrument has been re-padded throughout in Pisoni Premium Deluxe White leather, with the exception of the first trill key, which is cork. All pads are sealing well, and all touch and tenon corks are in excellent condition. The supplied Selmer barrels measure 63.5 mm & 64.5mm. In addition there is a Backun barrel, which is 63.5mm in length. The matching serial numbers are D1438, which dates to 1984. The supplied m'piece is a Vandoren 5RV , in "as new" condition. The case is the original Selmer in good condition.
