BUFFET CRAMPON RC PRESTIGE BASS CLARINET, £4745

This is a very good condition Buffet RC Prestige Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low C. The instrument has had only one professional owner. It was bought in in the early 2000's and used for approximately 8 years as part of a busy freelance career. The owner is now a full time School Music Teacher and, as he no longer plays the Bass, it is now offered to the market. The Buffet RC Prestige is a very different design to the R13 Prestige Bass: it features different size tone holes, and a more robust warm sound than the R13 model, a pity it is no longer in production.
All Silver plated key work is in very good condition, with only minor discolouration, no wear. There are no cracks or damage to the wood which is pristine. The crook is in good condition, and the bell has no dents or damage, again just minor patches of plating discolouration. This type of Buffet Bass has a double overblowing vent, and features alternative fingerings for low D. This Bass has finest Pisoni White Leather pads throughout, in good to excellent condition. The playing condition is superb, as the Bass has been well, and regularly, maintained by its former owner. There is the original floor peg to the bell, and also a long custom made peg for playing standing up, which was occasionally required of the instruments' first owner as a performing Bass Clarinet specialist at Conservatoire of Music. The matching serial nos. are 27942. The instrument comes in an up-graded BAM case, which is in good used condition, and with a used Vandoren B40 m'piece.
