A mint condition Buffet RC Bb clarinet in Silver plate, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Buffet RC model was launched in 1975, and named after Robert Carree, who had had a long career with Buffet Crampon, which culminated in him being chief designer. The RC places the speaker tube higher, and features a slighter wider initial polycylindrical bore than the R13. Most players find this results in a warmer, more "spread" tone, than the R13. This is the latest incarnation of the RC which features a re-designed bell, a Prestige type disc stamped "RC", and also a tiny but useful modification to the F#/C# key: A small adjusting screw is added to stop the lever going out of regulation.
There is no damage to the wood, which is prisitine, crack and repair free. All pieces are matching and original and stamped "Buffet". The plating overall is excellent, with no discernable wear, though Buffets from this period seem to have had the plating treated with an oil post-plating and this results in some discolouration to the plating over time. This Bb has matching S/N 678719, it was bought new by an adult learner 8 months ago, sadly due to health issues he no longer plays. This excellent instrument has seen little use. The instrument has white leather pads throughout is "as new" condition. The supplied m'piece is an uniused Buffet. Ther are 2 barrels of 65mm and 66mm. The case is the original in perfect condition, it comes with the still wrapped keys.
