A very fine condition matched pair of vintage Buffet R13's, dating to 1957. The German Silver key work is pristine throughout. The Bb Clarinet, S/N 55731 has wood in good condition with no cracks or damage, only surface marks, consistent with its age. The A Clarinet, S/N 54648, has wood with some surface marks, including a lightly scratched " M M" on the back of the lower joint, and the bell also has a tight crack which can be felt on the inside bore. It is less visible from the outside. The instruments have just been re-padded in fish skin pads, and are sold with our full `1 year warranty` The matching serial nos. on the Bb are 55731 and on the A 54648 which dates the pair to 1957. Back then these was the finest professional instruments Buffet made, with unstained, matched wood. This was before the introduction of the ""Prestige" range, which effectively downgraded the standard R13 considerably. These days R13's are made from inferior quality wood which is stained to hide imperfections. Buffet are currently attempting to recreate this Gold standard of manufacture in their current "Vintage R13" range please go to for more details. These instruments will not disappoint; and to find instruments of this quality, and in this condition, is becoming increasingly difficult. There are 3 supplied barrels; 2 stamped Buffet, of 66mm for the Bb, and 65mm for the A. In addition there is a further 64mm Accubore barrel in aluminium for the Bb stamped "B64" S/N 802829. The case is a modern Buffet leather pouchette type, in excellent condition and the m'piece is a Buffet C Crown of the period in very good condition.
