BUFFET CRAMPON R13 PRESTIGE A CLARINET, £2045

This near mint condition Buffet R13 Prestige A clarinet is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The instrument belongs to an Icelandic professional. The instrument is decribed as "near mint" only because of slight wear to the stamps and tenon corks. After the 1981 take over by Boosey and Hawkes, the Prestige range represented an attempt by Buffet to recapture former high manufacturing and quality control standards. To that end the Prestige clarinet went back to the earlier specification: Unstained, hand selected Grenadilla wood was used, and more time was spent on hand finishing the instrument. In addition an additional Eb/Ab lever for the LH was fitted.
This A has matching serial nos. 383159, it was bought new from Buffet Crampon, and last serviced by them 5 years ago, being re-paded in their own unique brand of white leather pads. Since then it has not been played. There are no cracks or damage to the wood, which is pristine throughout. The Silver plate throughout is in very good condition, with no wear. The key regulation is very good. All pieces are matching and original, with 2 supplied barrels one of 62mm, and a Bb Prestige barrel, of 66mm, which its former owner found tuned this A well. The case is the original Buffet which has been much used; there are scuffs to the exterior, one of the combination locks has failed, and it has been replaced with a standard latch. The handle has also been replaced.
