An excellent Buffet R13 A clarinet. This instrument has come to us via
a student at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She
has had the insrument re-padded by Eddie Ashton in his patent super-pads.
This means the instrument should be maintenance free for a considerable time,
up to 10 years. She also had a Ton Kooiman thumb rest fitted,
if desired, this can be replaced with a standard thumb rest FOC.
This instrument has had extremely careful use, the Silver plated key work is pristine throughout.
The wood is in very good condition, without cracks or damage.
The instrument has had a thorough "check down" in
our workshop, and the key work has been re-aligned and regulated.
All pieces are matching and original with Buffet stamps.
The matching serial nos. are F182394 which dates to 1977.
This then pre-dates the B&H take over of Buffet by some 6 years,
which was an excellent period of production.
At this period in Buffet Crampon's history the R13 was second only to the newly introduced RC
model in terms of quality. The wood was hand selected, unstained Grenadilla of finest quality,
as would be found on a Prestige model of today.
The supplied Buffet single A case is in excellent condition, if a double case is desired,
a used Buffet example can be supplied for an additional £50.
