BUFFET R13 A CLARINET, £1595

An excellent condition Buffet R13 A "UK" stamp clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The instrument has had only one owner, the celebrated clarinettist Colin Courtney, who selected it new from Buffet UK, Pages Walk, London. Colin was one of the most successful freelance clarinettists of his generation, working not only with most of the major top UK orchestras, & in the West End, as well as being a Professor of Clarinet at the Royal College of Music. There is no damage to the wood, which is crack and repair free, and in fine order. The Nickel Silver plated key work is excellent throughout, with no wear. The matching serial nos. are 166104 which dates to 1976. Back then this fine professional instrument was made, with unstained, hand selected matched wood. This was before the introduction of the "Prestige" range, which effectively downgraded the standard R13 considerably. These days R13's are made from inferior quality wood which is stained to hide imperfections. The instrument has just had a complete overhaul in our workshop in fish skin pads, and is sold with our full 1 year warranty. All pieces are matching and original. The supplied double case is an Orly in used condition, and the m'piece is a used Vandoren B45. This instrument plays extremely well, with an excellent scale and very fine intonation.
