BUFFET R13 Bb CLARINET, £1175

A good condition vintage Buffet R13, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The German Silver key work is in good condition, though there are a couple of scratches to the throat A key. The wood is in good condition with no cracks or damage, only surface marks, consistent with its age. The stamps throughout are largely faded, with no stamp clear on the bell. The instrument has recently been re-padded throughout in fish skin pads, which are all sealing well. All tenon and touch corks have been recently replaced,there is no joint wobble, and the regulation throughout is good. The matching serial nos. are 52735 which dates to 1956. Back then this was the finest professional instrument Buffet made, with unstained, matched wood. This was before the introduction of the ""Prestige" range, which effectively downgraded the standard R13 considerably. These days R13's are made from inferior quality wood which is stained to hide imperfections. This instrument will not disappoint; the quality of scale and intonation are everything one has come to expect from this period of careful hand manufacture. The case is the original, with dust cover, which is in excellent condition for its age. The m'piece is a brand new student model.
