This matched pair of rare Boosey & Hawkes, pre-war 1010 clarinets are in very good condition.
Their current owner is a professional based in Wales, and these instruments have just been
completely refurbished by Clarinets Direct and are sold with our full 1 year warranty.
The Bb has silver plated key work in pristine condition. The
instrument is in wood throughout, which is in overall excellent condition.
The matching serial nos. on all main pieces, apart from the bell, are 31158,
which dates to 1934.
The bell may be original, however the logo stamp is very worn; the tenon ring, and
general appearance are all a good match.
All pads are brand new finest tan leather Pisoni. There is no joint wobble
or play in the mechanism, the instrument is near mint.
The A, serial nos. 31552, which dates to 1935, has a repaired, pinned crack to the upper part of the top joint [see photo 6].
The crack runs down from the top tenon to the first trill key
hole. This one pinned repair is very old and stable. There is also a tight surface crack to the barrel.
All pieces are matching and serial numbered, including the m'piece.
The key work throughout is "as new". All pads are brand new
finest Pisoni tan leather. Both original m'pieces are in very good used condition.
The case is the original which has been much used, but is still functional.
