A good condition professional Selmer Paris Centered Tone Bb clarinet. This model, and the CT Omega, were both endorsed by Benny Goodman. This instrument is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, and has been professionally owned and played here in the UK. Though the instrument is not stamped "Centered Tone" it does feature the hexagonal speaker key tube, which is usually found on the CT clarinet. The serial number, P 5369 dates to 1953, which would make this an early CT.
This clarinet is in good condition for its age, and the wood surface shows only slight marks. The fish skin pads are old but sealing. There is no joint wobble, and the key work regulation and touch corks are all good. The German Silver key work shows wear, and a patina commensurate with the age of the clarinet. All pieces are original with Selmer stamps. The supplied case is worn but functional. The m'piece is a ebonite example, which tunes this clarinet very well.
