SELMER, PARIS, PRE-CENTERED TONE Bb CLARINET, £745

This is a Selmer Pre-CT clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The original owner was the late Steve Morris: Steve was one of Manchesters finest jazz musicians, well known for his celebrated "Band on the Wall" and the eponymous pub, which he owned and which became one of the North West's premiere live music venues.
This particular clarinet has 7 rings, rather than the more usual 6, giving a fork Eb/Bb in the LH. It also has an articulated C#/G# mechanism, a particular favourite of Sax. doublers. The instrument has no cracks or damage to the wood, which is finest Grenadilla. The German Silver key work is in good condition throughout. The pads are tan leather in excellent condition. All touch and tenon corks are good. There is no joint wobble. The matching serial nos. are P1797, which dates to 1952. The m'piece is a Selmer C in very good condition. The case, is well used, but latches securely.
