A rare Romeo Orsi C clarinet. Orsi are one of the most respected and oldest of the Italian manufacturers of clarinets. Originally founded in 1880 in Milan, the firm was then subsequently run by two further generations of Orsi's; Lorenzo and Roberto. Both Patricola, who now manufactures clarinets in Milan, and Bulgheroni trained with the firm.
This is a Professional model Grenadilla wood C clarinet, and it plays with a well rounded tone, quite warm for a C, and with excellent intonation. The instrument is in very good condition, with no cracks or damage to the unstained Grenadilla wood, & the matching serial nos. are 9605. The pads are mainly fish skin, in good used condition, with the exception of the register key which is in cork. The Nickel Silver key work and plating are in good condition, with only slight wear to the G sharp key and ring fingers. The instrument has been down to our workshop for a thorough "check down", and has been regulated. The m'piece is a Vandoren B45 in ebonite. The original case is in good condition. This C would suit a professional on a budget, or any player looking for a fine C at a bargain price.
