NOBLET, by LEBLANC, PLATEAU B FLAT CLARINET, £1045

A rare superb condition professional Artist Noblet, Paris France, Plateau B flat clarinet. The artist was the "top of the range" Noblet model, and this is a late model, with the later Noblet logo. Unlike some of the cheaper models in the range, this clarinet is made entirely from Grenadilla wood. All the key work, which is plated in Nickel Silver, is in excellent condition. There is a tiny area of spot wear to RH2, the plating is 99%. The wood, which is also in overall excellent condition, has only one slight surface crack running from the top tenon into the speaker tube hole. As this is metal lined, and the crack is on the surface, this is a cosmetic flaw only, it has no effect on the response. The crack has been filled and sealed in the past. The clarinet has just been completely overhauled by Clarinets Direct, and is sold with our full 1 year warranty. The instrument has been completely stripped down; the wood oiled, key work buffed and polished, all pads replaced with Pisoni Premium Deluxe fish skin pads, springs replaced as necessary, all tenon and touch corks replaced, the mechanism re-aligned and regulated. The clarinet is "as new". All pieces are matching and original, the serial nos. are 29634. The case is a brand new Venus. The mouthpiece is a Vandoren, 5RV in excellent used condition. This clarinet continued to be manufactured by Leblanc right up until they ceased manufacture in 2009. It was described by them as "specifically designed for the younger player, doubler or even the arthritic player who may have difficulty covering the standard open-tone-hole".
