A rare, very good condition Noblet, Paris France, Plateau B flat clarinet.
This is an entry level professional model Noblet, with a
mechanism, i.e. plateau.
Unlike some of the cheaper models in the range, this clarinet is made entirely from Grenadilla wood.
All the key work, which is plated in Nickel Silver, is in excellent condition,
with no wear to the touchpieces.
The wood throughout is in good condition, with no cracks or repairs,
there are only minor surface scuffs and marks, associated with normal use.
The clarinet has just been overhauled in cork on the upper joint, and
Pisoni Premium De-luxe white leather pads, on the lower joint. This is commonly known
as an "Artist Quality" set-up, and this combination of pads should be good for 5 years.
The instrument is sold with our full 1 year warranty.
The matching serial nos. are B6702.
The case is the original in fair condition, there are slight stains to the interior lining,
but it latches and protects the instrument well.
The mouthpiece is a used Selmer C* which has been re-layed to B45 dimensions, and
shortened by Dr. Edward Pillinger. The clarinet was formerly owned by a professional player here in the UK
and this m'piece, which sits slightly proud of the top tenon, tunes the clarinet very well.
This clarinet continued to be manufactured by Leblanc
right up until they ceased manufacture in 2009. It was described by them as "specifically
designed for the younger player, doubler or even the arthritic player who
may have difficulty covering the standard open-tone-hole".
