This is an extremely rare Noblet Artist Full Boehm Bb clarinet. The Artist is the top of the range Noblet, an entry level professional model, unlike the cheaper 40/45 range. The instrument was part of the David Hamilton collection. David was a renowned teacher, and one time Head of Wind for Surrey County Music Service. His former pupils, many of whom are now professionals, included Michael Collins, Fiona Cross, and Ian Peters. The Nickel silver key work is excellent throughout, with minimal wear. We have just entirely re-padded in Pisoni Deluxe double bladder fishskin & the clarinet is sold with our full years' Clarinets Direct warranty. There are no cracks or damage to the wood which is in good order throughout, with only minor surface marks and scratches. The thumb rest has been moved slightly upwards and replaced with a sling hook model. The 2 screw holes have been filled, see photo 8. All parts of the instrument are made from Grenadilla wood, unlike some more recent Noblets, which were made with plastic barrels and bells, as a cost saving exercise. The barrel is a more recent Noblet replacement. The matching serial nos. are B68728. This instrument probably dates to the late 1970's. The case is the original in good condition, and features the supplying dealers plate.
