This is a nice condition Noblet, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb. The Noblet 60 Bass is Leblanc's entry level professional model, featuring a single register key, and range to low Eb. The Nickel Silver plated key work shows normal wear to the ring key touch pieces, the plating is about 90%. The key work shows a nice shine throughout. The plating on the crook is good, but it has a couple of small pin head dings, and the bell also has one slight dent, see photo 7. None of this affects the response or intonation in anyway. There are no cracks or damage to the wood, just surface marks and scratches, consistent with normal use. This instrument used to have a floor peg holder attached to the rear of the lower joint, this was removed, and in our workshop we have filled in the four screw holes which where left, see photo 11. There is also some glue residue undeneath the thumb rest, it was possibly loose in the past, but this is an old repair, not undertaken in our workshop, and the thumb rest is stable. Apart from this there are no repairs to the wood, which is finest aged Grenadilla. This Bass has had a complete Pisoni Premium Deluxe Tan Leather re-pad in our workshop, & is sold with our full Clarinets Direct 1 year warranty. We have also fitted a floor peg attachment to the base of the bell. The serial no. is 6661, which dates to the 1970's. The case is the original in fair condition; there are some scuffs to the exterior and wear to the interior, but it latches and protects the instrument well. The m'piece is a new student USA model. This instrument responds easily and readily, and would make an ideal first professional Bass clarinet purchase.
