NOBLET, PARIS, PROFESSIONAL BASS CLARINET, £1445

This is a fine condition Noblet, by Leblanc, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb. This is a model 60, the entry level professional Bass made by Leblanc. This instrument is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, the current owner having just bought a Selmer Privilege Bass to low C from ourselves. All the Nickel Silver key work is in good condition, with only the usual spot wear. There are no cracks to the wood, but it does show minor surface scuffs and marks. The crook & bell are both in good condition but the bell shows some scratches, and a few minor dings. There is a floor peg attachment to this bell. The Bass has used leather pads, with some newer than others, all are sealing well. The instrument has been down to our workshop for regulation. The keywork has been oiled and touch corks replaced as necessary. The matching serial nos. are 5454, which dates to the 1960's. The Protech case is in good condition, it protects the instrument well. The m'piece is a Selmer C* in good condition, which plays and tunes this Bass very well. The instrument would suit a professional looking for a reasonably priced entry level wooden Bass. A comparable model Amati Bass now retails new for £4220.
