This is a fine condition Noblet, by Leblanc, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb. This is an early model 60, the entry level professional Bass made by Leblanc, which was originally professionally owned and played in London's West End then subsequently owned by an amateur, who has just bought a low C Buffet Bass, and is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. All the German Silver key work is in excellent condition, with no wear. There are no cracks or damage to the wood, but it does show scuffs and surface marks, mostly where old screw holes have been filled. The bell and crook are both in good condition with only very slight scratches, there are only slight marks to the bell , and one old minor solder repair to the crook, see photo 4. The Bass has finest Pisoni Premium Deluxe Tan Leather pads throughout, all are in near new condition. There is a floor peg attachment to the bell with spike & also a sling hook. The matching serial nos. are 1531, which dates to the 1950's, at this period Noblet fitted articulated trill keys to the three highest pitches, in the manner of Selmer, later on, this superior design was simplified in order to save money with production costs. The case is an original Leblanc, it latches well and has some repairs to the interior lining, but is fully functional. The m'piece is an original Noblet in good condition.
