An extremely rare, very good condition, Noblet Artist, Paris France, Plateau A clarinet. Clarinets Direct is fortunate to count many of the UK's foremost professional players amongst our clientele. One such is Pete Ripper, for many years a leading London Sax and clarinet player, and member of the London Saxophone Quartet. This is one of several of his instruments that we will be listing over the next few weeks. This is an entry level professional model Noblet, with a covered hole mechanism, i.e. plateau.
All the key work, which is plated in Nickel Silver, is in very good condition, with no discernable wear. The wood throughout is in good condition, with no cracks or repairs, there are minor surface scuffs and marks, associated with normal use. We have just overhauled the instrument in Pisoni Premium De-luxe fish skin pads, and the clarinet is sold with our full 1 year warranty. . The matching serial nos. are B47800. The double case is "as new". This clarinet continued to be manufactured by Leblanc right up until they ceased manufacture in 2009. It was described by them as "specifically designed for the younger player, doubler or even the arthritic player who may have difficulty covering the standard open-tone-hole".
