SELMER PARIS MARK VI BARITONE SAX, £5995

This is a good condition Selmer Baritone Sax, to low Bb, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Selmer Paris Baritone is considered the finest in the World due to its excellent ergonomics, and the Mark V1 is considered the epitome of Selmer's production. This instrument has been professionally owned and played here in London, with the current owner, John Sands, having used it for several years, having bought it from the original owner, Peter Ripper, who had it new.
The Baritone has serial nos 59097, which makes it an early 1955 model, these "darker" sounding early Mark VI's are generally considered the finest. The original lacquer shows normal wear, as seen in the photographs, principally to the crook, and rear. There are no dents, only one slight "ding" which was difficult to photograph, see photo 8. This ocurred on a Gig at the Imperial War Museum in London, when John had a brief moment of contact with a cannon! The key work is in excellent condition, John has attached a piece of cork to the "B" touchpiece to facilitate contact with the Bb button, this could easily be removed. This instrument has tan leather pads throughout, which whilst used, are sealing well. The regulation is good. There is a stand, and gig bag also included in the sale. The original case is in good used condition, with some tape repairs to the exterior. The m'piece is a used Yamaha 5C.
