KING MARIGAUX, PARIS, ALTO CLARINET, £945

This is an excellent condition King Marigaux Alto clarinet, in Grenadilla wood, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. King, were, I believe, the agents for SML. Strasser, Marigaux, and Lemaire were makers specialising in professional, saxophones, oboes and clarinets. Today, as Marigaux, they survive as one of the World's finest oboe manufacturers.
All the Nickel Silver plate key work is in superb condition, with no discernable wear. The wood overall is also in excellent condition, with no damage or repairs. Likewise the crook and bell, which show no dents or dings, this Alto has been excellently cared for. The instrument has recently been entirely re-padded in Tan leather; all the pads are "as new". The instrument is a top professional model, featuring compensating low G/D vent, like a top of the range Bass clarinet, and LH Ab/Eb lever. The matching serial numbers are 216. The case is in good condition, as is the m'piece, which is a Noblet.
