An extremely
fine, and rare, Robert Malerne, Paris, covered hole clarinet. Malerne
was apparently active in Paris from the 1930s to the 1950s, and given the German
Silver keywork and design this would seem to be an instrument from the later period.
There is
no damage to the main pieces, which are all original, crack and repair free. The condition of the wood is
excellent, with only 2 minor marks on the upper joint, see photo 12.
The original German Silver key work is in lovely condition, without any wear, again only light scratches.
The instrument has just been completely overhauled in finest Pisoni white leather pads,
and is sold with our full 1 year warranty.
The supplied case is brand new.
The instrument tunes extremely well at A=440 Hz, and is excellent value for a "plateau"
wooden clarinet. It would suit a sax/flute doubler or a player suffering from arthritis.
