These are an extremely rare pair of Leblanc, Paris, Full Boehm clarinets.
These instruments were the principal clarinets played by
David Hamilton. David was a renowned teacher, and one time Head of Wind for Surrey County
Music Service. His former pupils, many of whom are now professionals, included Michael Collins,
Fiona Cross, and Ian Peters. The Bb is earlier than the A, having serial number 14941, the A is an LL model,
S/N 44332.
The Bb has
Nickel silver key work which is very good throughout,
with minimal spot wear to the RH little finger keys, and register key.
We have just entirely re-padded in Pisoni Deluxe double bladder fishskin & the clarinet is sold with
our full years' Clarinets Direct warranty. There are no cracks or damage to the wood which is in good order
throughout, with only minor surface marks and scratches.
The thumb rest has been adapted to a sling hook model. The
A has Nickel silver key work in very good condition throughout. Likewise the wood is without cracks or damage.
This instrument has also just had a complete overhaul, and is sold with our full warranty.
Again it features a thumb rest with integral sling hook.
The case is the original in fair condition, and is supplied with a voluminous case cover.
One zip has failed but the other still seals up the entire cover, which also features pouches for music
and other accessories. The mouthpiece is an O'Brien 2* crystal in excellent used condition.
