This is a good condition G Leblanc, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb. This Bass was Leblanc's intermediate professional model the 400. The Nickel Silver plated key work shows some wear, principally on the main finger touchpieces, the plating is about 90%. The crook is in good condition with only slight marks or scratches, the bell has only a couple of slight dings, commensurate with careful use. There is one old stable repair to the upper part of the top joint, see photo 4. The crack does not go through a tone hole and has been pinned 5 times; a very solid repair. Apart from this there are no cracks or damage to the wood. This Bass has had a complete Pisoni Premium Deluxe Tan Leather re-pad in our workshop, & is sold with our full 1 year warranty. The key work has been swaged and regulated, and all touch corks have been replaced. The instrument responds well and the action is smooth and quiet. In addition all the key work has been buffed to a nice shine. There is a floor peg attachment to the back of the lower joint. The matching serial nos. are 8278, which dates to the 1970's. The supplied mouthpiece is a new Hite. The case is a replacement compact hardshell model in excellent condition .
