GEORGE LEBLANC, PARIS, PROFESSIONAL BASS CLARINET, £1295

This is a good condition G Leblanc, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb. It is a UK owner professional instrument, and has been extremely well cared for, even the metal guards for the crook and upper joint are still with the instrument. The Nickel Silver plated key work shows no wear, it is in very good condition throughout. The crook is in excellent condition, with only one tiny pin head ding. The bell shows a slight flattening to the base, see photo 8. We will fit a floor peg attachment in our workshop to stop this. NB The Bass has been photographed prior to going into our workshop. The Grenadilla wood shows no cracks or damage, apart from surface minor scuffs, and where screw holes and floor peg attachments have been fitted in the past and removed: 1. There was a bracket which held the two main pieces together, making the instrument effectively into a single piece Bass. This has been removed and the holes left unfilled, see photo 10. 2. There was a floor peg attachment at the rear of the lower joint. The screw holes for this have been filled, but in the process the lower joint serial number has been all but erased. This Bass will have a re-pad as necessary in our workshop, & the key work will be swaged and regulated. The upper joint serial nos. are 14301, but extremely difficult to make out, which probably dates to the late 1970's. The supplied mouthpiece is a student model in very good condition. The case is a Selmer from the 1960's which is in fair condition, with some stains and tears to the lining, it does latch very securely, however.
