This is a fine condition Leblanc Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, model 400, to low Eb. This instrument sits above the Noblet Bass in the Leblanc line up, and was described by them as an entry level professional model. All the German Silver key work is in excellent condition.  The wood is in very good condition for a Bass of this age, with just one repaired, pinned, crack at the top of the lower joint running from the start of the tenon, see picture 7. Fortunately this part of this instrument is the receiver tenon for the upper joint so it does not form the bore, & consequently the crack has absolutely no effect on the response. The rest of the wood surface shows minor surface scratches and marks only.  The bell and crook are both in good used condition with no major dents, there are only slight surface dings to the bell, and light scratches.   The Bass has had full tan leather re-pad and is sold with a years' warranty. There is a floor peg to the bell, the matching serial nos. are 1958, which probably dates to the 1950's [ on line Leblanc serial number lists are unreliable]. The case is the original, which understandably shows much wear, however it still latches securely and protects the instrument well. The m'piece is a used ebonite model in good condition.
