This is a good condition G. Leblanc Paris, Alto Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb. The wood is in fine condition throughout with no cracks or repairs. A bridge bracket has been added between the main joints to fix the Alto as a one piece instrument, see photo 10. The nickel silver plated key work keywork shows some spot wear to the touch pieces, the plating is about 85%. Likewise the bell and crook which show some plating wear and minor dings, none of these affect the response, which is excellent. An additional security number has been scratched into the bell, which matches one on the back of the lower joint. It is likely, therefore, that this instrument was owned at some point by a school or Conservatoire. The Alto has recently been overhauled in white leather & fish skin pads which are all in excellent condition. The matching serial nos. are 6730, which probably dates to the early 1970's. The case is the original with scuffs to the exterior and some tears to the interior lining, but still fully serviceable. The m'piece is a Vandoren "Perfecta" in Diamond Ebonite, in excellent condition. Some reeds and a sling are also provided
