This is an extremely rare L200 professional model Leblanc Paris Bb clarinet.
The L200 was the
penultimate model of the L7/L27/L200/L300 series, which were Leblanc's
tapered bore upper joint models, introduced through the early 1970's, and culminating
in the early 1980's with the L300. This particular instrument
was considered Leblanc's most advanced design of the late 1970's.
This Leblanc L200 Bb clarinet is in very good condition, and is
a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, having come to us via
a jazz player here in the UK, who now plays a Rossi Rosewood clarinet.
The intonation and response of the L200 series are very good.
The clarinet has matching serial nos. 49613. The L series did suffer from
some plating problems, commonly referred to as "bubbling plating". However
the Silver plate on this isntrument is in very good condition, with only
slight wear on the F/C pad cup and RH rings.
The wood is in overall fine condition,
with no cracks or repairs, though there are some minor surface scratches to the wood,
all normal signs of use.
We have just overhauled the instrument,
and the clarinet is sold with our full 1 year warranty.
All pieces are matching and original with
Leblanc stamps.
The case shows some exterior stains but is sturdy and protects the clarinet well.
The mouthpiece is a Leblanc 2L, in excellent condition.
