This matched pair of extremely rare Boosey & Hawkes, pre-war 1010 clarinets are in superb condition. Their current owner is a professional based in The Netherlands, and these instruments have just been completely refurbished by the German maker, Meinel, at a cost of over 800 Euros. The condition is outstanding: These are probably the finest pair of pre-war Boosey & Hawkes clarinets in existence. Furthermore: The A has matching serial nos. throughout of 33912, on all pieces, including the original mouthpiece. The Bb has matching serial nos. on all pieces of 33489, though the mouthpiece is a brand new modern replacement. As aficianados of the pre war 1010 are acutely aware, the 33000 serial numbered series are considered the best.
The Bb has silver plated key work in pristine condition. The instrument is in wood throughout, which is in overall excellent condition. All pads are brand new finest White leather Pisoni. There is no joint wobble or play in the mechanism, the instrument is near mint. The A, serial nos. 33912, has no cracks or repairs. The key work throughout is "as new". All pieces are wood apart from the original m'piece, which is made of ebonite, and is in excellent condition. The case is the original in poor condition, with key, it has a Boosey & Hawkes plaque stating that the pair were supplied by B&H, 295 Regent Street, London. In addition an excellent modern Yamaha double case is also supplied. The price for the pair can be reduced by 100, if this Yamaha case is not required.
