BOOSEY & HAWKES IMPERIAL Eb CLARINET, FARRELL COLLECTION, £1695

This is a good condition Boosey and Hawkes Imperial, Eb Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This Eb has a fine provenance, having been owned and played professionally in London by Julian Farrell, member of the English Chamber Orchestra for many years, and Prof. of Clarinet at the Guildhall School of Music.
This instrument is in very fine condition the Silver plated key work shows only slight wear, mainly to the tenon rings, it is in good condition throughout. There are no cracks or repairs to the wood, which is in very good condition. The instrument has fish skin pads which are all sealing well. The serial nos. are 292548. There are two original supplied barrels, one measuring 44mm, the other 42mm. The mouthpiece is a B&H original. It plays comfortably with Vandoren No. 3 or 3.5 reeds. The case is again original, in fair condition. In summation this Eb plays well, and with excellent intonation.
