BOOSEY & HAWKES IMPERIAL Eb CLARINET, £1695

This is a good condition Boosey and Hawkes Imperial, Eb Clarinet in Grenadilla wood. The Silver plated key work shows little wear, the plating is very good throughout, with the exception of the thumb bush, see photo 10. There are no cracks or repairs to the wood, which is in good order throughout, though the wood does have surface marks and scratches consistent with the age of the clarinet. The instrument has just had a full overhaul in the Clarinets Direct workshop, with fish skin pads, & all touch corks replaced and regulation seen to as necessary. It is sold with our full 1 year warranty. The barrel is original and measures, 44.5mm. The original case is well used, but still latches securely. It shows that the instrument was bought from "Dallas of London" who were also the sole importers for Buffet Crampon in the 1950's and early 1960's. In addition to the original m'piece a B&H ebonite example, in good condition, a brand new Pillinger, with facing HH 1.07, is also supplied. This Eb is a top professional model, it plays with an excellent warm tone, and very fine intonation. The serial nos. are 120364 which dates to approximately 1956, sadly this model is no longer made.
