BAROQUE HIGH F CLARINET MOUTHPIECE, £100

This is an extremely rare high F Baroque clarinet mouthpiece by the English maker Wood, and is marked, "I. WOO FECIT". Additionally it has just been relayed by Edward Pillinger; so is marked at the base of the table, "BC80V". The tip opening is 0.80mm and the m'piece plays with modern high Ab clarinet reeds. The total length, including tenon, is 81.7mm, with the m'piece itself measuring 53.7mm. The bore is 12.0mm. It is highly likely that this mouthpiece is well over 200 years old, the condition is remarkably good. It is the property of an Opera singer and was actually with a  Goulding C clarinet dating to 1811. This clarinet has been in the family for several generations, from new, though the mismatched m'piece cannot be explained!
