Clarinets Direct is delighted to be able to offer these extremely rare custom made, Frank Hammerschmidt, Boehm system clarinets for sale. Their former owner, an amateur, has unfortunately just lost her job, and these extremely desirable instruments are therefore offered to the market. Frank Hammerschmidt has one of the most enviable reputations Worldwide of clarinet makers: His clarinets manage to achieve a rare synthesis of German/Viennese dark tone with Boehm system fingering. They are amongst the most expensive and sought after clarinets.
The Bb features a bore size of 15.25mm, silver plated keys, with offset C#/G# hole, and adjusting screws for lower pad regulation. The pads are white leather in good condition. There is no wear to the Silver plate, which is pristine throughout. The wood is without marks or damage.
The A features a bore size of 15.30mm, it has key work identical to the Bb, all of which is in pristine condition. The pads are white leather in good condition. There are no cracks or damage to the wood which is excellent throughout. Frank does not serial number his instruments. There are no less than 6 barrels of 58.5mm, 59.0mm, 59.5mm, 60.0mm, 61.0mm & 62.5mm. Also supplied are two Hans Zinner mouthpieces, of large bore. They are marked. 2* L, and 0.93mm by 24mm, both German lays. The intonation and response are impeccable. The instrument will also play with standard French bore m'pieces, the former owner actually used a Lomax with a shorter barrel. The supplied case is an excellent BAM in "as new" condition.
