LEBLANC, ESPRIT, PROFESSIONAL Eb CLARINET, £1495

This is a rare Leblanc Esprit, Paris, professional Eb Clarinet, in superb condition. This instrument is a commission sale, having come to us from a top UK professional. Unlike older Noblet Eb's, the Leblanc Esprit, Concerto and Opus were extremely moderm designs with excellent acoustic properties and intonation. Designed to go head to head with the best Buffet and Selmer Eb clarinets. The Leblanc brochure states: "The Esprit Eb offers artist-quality performance, by featuring many playing charactersitics of the Opus/Concerto clarinets", namely; "Its high notes are particularly fine, with roundness and depth, free of the thin & strident traits often associated with the Eb."
The instrument is in mint condition. The wood, finest aged, unstained Grenadilla, shows no cracks or damage, it is pristine. The bore is 13.20mm, and the design features offset trill keys. The Silver plate is unmarked and excellent. We have just fully overhauled this clarinet in fish skin pads, and it is sold with our 1 year warranty. The mouthpiece is a used Lomax Classic, NC, in very good condition. The S/N is 75338. When it was bought new, the asking price was well above that of both the Buffet R13 Eb and RC Eb.
