This is a very good condition Esprit, by Leblanc, Paris, Bass Clarinet in Grenadilla wood, to low Eb. This is a model 160, the entry level professional Bass made by Leblanc, Paris. The Nickel Silver key work is in nice condition with only a couple of tiny patches of slight spot wear. The wood is excellent throughout, with no cracks or damage. The crook is in very good condition with no dents or plating wear, the bell has several small dings, but all of these are commensurate with the age, and normal use of the instrument see photo 7. The Bass has just been completely overhauled in finest Pisoni Premium Deluxe Tan Leather pads, and is sold with our full 1 year warranty. There is a floor peg attachment to the bell with spike & also a sling hook. The matching serial nos. are 16301, dating to the 2000s. The case is an original Leblanc, which has lost the central clasp, the other two still shut the case securely. There are some scuffs to the exterior and wear to the interior. The m'piece is a new Yamaha 4C, as is the supplied Rovner ligature. This instrument plays very easily, with an even response across the range. It would suit a professional player, or doubler, on a budget. The instrument was listed new for £3725 in 2007, by comparison with other French manufacturers instruments in the same catalogue the current list price would be £5463.
