PETER EATON ELITE Bb CLARINET, £1895

This Eaton Elite is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. It has had only one owner from new, and the condition of the instrument is extremely good. The Elite is Eaton's wide bore English model, based on the Boosey & Hawkes 1010.
This Bb, serial no. E274, has wood throughout in very good condition, there are no cracks or repairs, excepting a small chip to the outer rim of the upper joint tenon, see photo 11. This is completely hidden when the clarinet is assembled and has no effect on the response. All tan leather pads are in very good condition, as are the touch and tenon corks. The Silver plate is without any marks or tarnish, excellent condition. There are 2 barrels of 63.2mm and 64.8mm in perfect condition. The m'piece is an Eaton Elite stamped: 1.24 21V, S/N 3045, in good used condition. The original Paxman case is again, in very good condition. This instrument has had only light use and represents a substantial cost saving over new.
