PETER EATON, ELITE Bb CLARINET, £2195

This Peter Eaton Elite Bb is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. The Elite is Peter Eaton's best regarded model and is based on the Boosey & Hawkes 1010, though it differs acoustically, in that it features a reverse taper in the upper joint for improved tuning, along with careful undercutting. The current owner is a well known UK Jazz Band leader. It has been very well maintained & is in excellent used condition.
This Bb, serial no. 9013, has wood throughout in excellent condition. All tan leather pads are in very good condition, as are the touch and tenon corks. The Silver plate is 99%: The only slight wear is to RH rings, see photo 7. The 2 supplied barrels are of 64.5mm and 63.0mm. The mouthpiece is an Eaton stamped "1010 1.28 16.5 B" in very good condition. The BAM case is used, but again in good condition. As Peter Eaton no longer manufactures, this instrument is both desirable, and an excellent future investment.
