BUFFET E13 Bb CLARINET, £845

A near mint condition Buffet E13 Bb clarinet. This clarinet is Buffet's top student wooden model. The Silver plate key work is pristine, all pieces are original & have bright matching Buffet stamps. The Grenadilla wood is in near perfect condition. The instrument is described as "near mint" because of a minor surface chip to the wood on the upper joint at the logo, see photo 5. All fish skin pads are in excellent condition, with no wear, they will be good for some time to come. The serial nos. are K145515. The case is an upgrade to a modern back pack model, which is "as new" condition. Current E13s are being treated by Buffet with a chemical compound, which is supposed to inhibit cracking. In fact this seems to be causing some joint problems for Buffet, with many new instrument owners reporting problems with sticking joints to dealers, due to this compound leaching out from the wood end grain. At the period this instrument was made, thankfully the Grenadilla wood was left to age naturally prior to manufacture.
