BUFFET EVETTE & SCHAEFFER E13 Bb CLARINET

A good condition Buffet Crampon, Evette & Schaeffer E13. Just completely overhauled in double bladder fishskin Pisoni pads and sold with a full year's warranty.   This instrument was hand finished and undercut, unlike modern E13's which are completely machine made. The keywork is solid German Silver, not plated, in excellent condition. The Grenadilla wood overall is in good condition, but there are two cracks to the upper joint which have been excellently repaired [see photos 4 & 5]. . Not only have the cracks been filled and pinned, but whoever did the work has also gone to the trouble to make two metal tenon rings for the top and bottom of the upper joint to further reinforce the repair: One would normally see this type of ring only on a Prestige range Buffet. We have checked the repair over in our workshop and the seal is excellent.  The matching serial nos. are 2167, which mean this instrument dates to the 1950's; an excellent period of quality manufacture. The m'piece is a brand mew student model & the case a modern Buffet in very good condition.
