CONN, PROFESSIONAL ALTO CLARINET, £595

This is a good condition Conn, Alto Clarinet in ebonite to low Eb. Most likely this was made as a top model: Not only does it feature a LH Ab/Eb, but also a compensating G/D hole. Both of these are consistent with a professional model, as was the use of ebonite in the manufacture of older superior quality clarinets. This instrument is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct, as the current owner has traded up to a wooden Noblet Alto.
The Nickel Silver plated key work is in good condition throughout with only slight wear, though it would benefit from a good buffing and polish. The bell has a few minor dings but no dents, and slight flattening to the base. The crook is in good condition and shows no damage. The ebonite is in fine condition with no cracks or repairs, though it shows slight discolouration throughout. The Alto has just been given a thorough "check down" in our workshop, the pads though elderly are all sealing well. The instrument is in good regulation throughout, and all touch corks have been replaced as necessary. The matching serial nos. are M24575. The case is a modern brand new example. The m'piece is a rare superb Lelandais, in excellent condition.
