This is an excellent condition early Cabart A Clarinet, which is a commission sale for Clarinets Direct. This instrument has 7 rings, i.e. fork Eb/Bb and the articulated C#/G# mechanism. All pieces are original , and matching, stamped "Cabart Paris", with the exception of the barrel. Cabart was a fine professional maker pre WW2, and this instrument will pair well with most modern French clarinets.
There is no damage to the wood on the main joints, though there is a tight surface hairline crack to the barrel. The key work is Maillechort, German Silver, and is in fine order throughout. The double bladder fish skin pads, while not new, are all sealing well. All touch corks are fine, though there are some tape repairs to the tenon corks. The joints are a good fit and there is no joint wobble. The matching serial nos. are 123. The clarinet plays extremely well, very even and with a fine tone. The supplied m'piece is an original Cabart in ebonite, of very good quality. The case, though elderly, is in good condition it latches & protects the instrument well.
